Reports from the Region - June 2009

1. Tennessee
  • School assemblies provide an avenue of reaching Children
  • Galilee Bible Camp
  • Nathaniel, Rebecca and Juliana Mullins moved to the field in March as partners. Pray that their support would enable them to minister full time at Galilee Bible Camp.
  • Pizza and S.W.A.T. Club(Students With a Testimony) in the local high school reaches youth with an average attendance of 40.
2. Kentucky
  • Beth Arnold was accepted in April to join the missionary team reaching children through release time classes and character education. Pray that her support would come in.
  • The “Break” bus provides a classroom (see photo on opposite page.)
  • Monthly over 2,400 children are reached during the school year.
  • Brian and Lindsay Shank welcomed Abigail into their family.
3. West Virginia
  • “What do you think of dinosaurs?” asked “Carol” sitting on the floor with her pastor’s wife (AMF missionary, Darlena Ferguson). Finally she asked, “Why do people get sick and die?” Questions with answers provide opportunity for ministry in children and parents lives.
4. Florida
  • Soccer tournament outreach sponsored by AMF church, Iglesia BĂ­blica de la Comunidad was held in Suitcase City (22,000 Hispanics in a 4 mile radius) hosted teams with roots in Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico. The gospel was shared before the tournament and church members ministered during the tournaments via tracts, personal testimonies and talking about the Lord. At the award ceremony AMF missionary Bruce Sewell gave a message.
  • Hurricane Rita devastated and destroyed ministry in Delray Beach 4 years ago. Today ministry is held in the public school building with after school Bible clubs. Children not able to attend church have the gospel brought to them through the AMF ministry of KIDS FOR CHRIST Florida.
5. Mississippi
  • Larry Pierce was accepted in June for prison ministry. Pray for him as he raises his support.
  • Volunteers have continued ministry in Natchez with women’s Bible Studies and Sunday School at the Battered Women’s Shelter. Pray for a missionary to take this field.
