Convenience Store Conversation

Thirst needed to be quenched after a day of meetings which prompted us to stop by the local convenience store for some much needed water. As I approached the counter, a young gentleman chatted with the clerk. He reported he had not gone to church last Sunday since he had no money for the offering. The conversation continued now with three of us involved on whether God expects a monetary offering from us in order to approach His place of worship.

I was reminded that we quite often place our own attached strings to what we think God's expectations should be. He simply desires us to approach Him just as we are, confess our sins, be right with Him. I John 1:9

The young gentleman had actually dropped by the church during the week and left an offering. As I headed out the door, I encouraged him to attend church and meet up with God regardless of whether he had an offering in hand or not.
